Volunteer With Voices for Children
While it is important to protect children who need help today, it is equally important to protect other children from harm in the first place.
At Voices for Children, volunteers play an important role in creating a safe, supportive environment for children and families impacted by abuse, neglect, and trauma.
Whether you are welcoming families during their visit, supporting children through a grief group, representing our mission in the community, or advocating for a child in foster care, your time and compassion can make a lasting difference.
Our volunteers come from all walks of life, and no matter how you serve, you become part of a team dedicated to ensuring every child has a voice.
All Voices for Children volunteers are required to complete an application, participate in an interview process, complete fingerprinting, and pass a background check before beginning their volunteer service. Additional training requirements may apply depending on the volunteer role.

Family Host Volunteer
Be a calming presence for children and families.
Family Hosts provide comfort and support to children and families visiting Voices for Children for a Forensic Interview. This role helps create a welcoming and safe environment during what can be an overwhelming experience.
Family Hosts assist with greeting families, helping with paperwork, answering basic questions, and engaging children through play and conversation while they wait.
This role is perfect for compassionate individuals who want to help children feel safe, supported, and cared for during their time at our center.
Family & Support Group Volunteer
Help families feel supported on their healing journey.
Family & Support Group Volunteers assist with creating a welcoming environment for children and their caregivers participating in support groups at Voices for Children.
Volunteers help support non-offending parents, assist children with guided activities, and provide support with preparing the space before groups and restoring the space afterward.
By offering encouragement, kindness, and a listening ear, volunteers help families feel less alone as they navigate difficult experiences.
Grief Group Volunteer
Help children process loss and find connection.
Grief Group Volunteers support children as they learn healthy ways to understand and express their feelings after experiencing a loss.
Volunteers assist with guided crafts, activities, and group discussions designed to help children explore their emotions and connect with others who have experienced similar losses.
Through patience, creativity, and compassion, volunteers help children feel heard and supported as they navigate grief.
Outreach Support / Ambassador Volunteer
Help share our mission throughout the community.
Outreach Support Volunteers help Voices for Children connect with the community and spread awareness about our programs and services.
Volunteers may attend community events, represent Voices for Children at outreach opportunities, share information about our mission, and connect with individuals who want to support children and families.
This role is a great fit for individuals who enjoy meeting new people and want to help build stronger community awareness around child advocacy.
Fundraising & Events Volunteer
Help bring our mission to life through community events.
Our fundraising events help raise awareness and critical support for the children and families we serve. Event Volunteers help make these opportunities successful by assisting with event preparation, organizing donations, setting up spaces, supporting event activities, and helping with various tasks during events.

CASA Volunteer
Become a voice for a child in foster care.
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) are specially trained volunteers who advocate for children in the foster care system. CASA Volunteers are assigned to a child or sibling group and work to ensure their needs, experiences, and best interests are represented throughout the court process.
CASA Volunteers visit with children, gather information from the people involved in their lives, and provide recommendations to the court to help ensure children receive the care, services, and support they need.
Becoming a CASA Volunteer requires a commitment to completing 30 hours of specialized training before being assigned to advocate for a child. CASA Volunteers must also complete fingerprinting, a background check, and all required screening processes.
A CASA Volunteer can be the consistent and caring adult who helps change the trajectory of a child's life.
